Official One-Up, Two-Down thread

1966 Ludwig in champagne sparkle. The sizes are 22/12/14/16, and they sound terrific. The snare is a Ludwig Classic Maple, and it also sounds great.

Cymbals are all Istanbul Agop.

My 1969 Ludwig Hollywood kit in gold sparkle. The sizes are 22/12/14/16 and this kit also sounds fantastic. The 14" is from a 1968 Ludwig Downbeat kit.

The snare is a Craviotto and is a 6.5X14. It is easily the best sounding snare I have ever owned.

The cymbals are Istanbul Agop except for the hi hats which are late 50s Zildjians.

And the best for last! This is my favorite drum set, and it is a C&C 12th & Vine with aged maple wood hoops. The color is navy blue sparkle and it is far and away my favorite finish. This kit sounds amazing! Warm, warm, warm!

The sizes are 22/12/14/16 and the snare is a George Way Studio model, 6.5X14.

The cymbals are Zildjian Constantinople, except for the 20" crash which is a Kerope.

My contribution. Picked these up in 1991. It's an 8 piece late 60s/early 70s Slingerland. I like to play it in this configuration for most applications. It's a COW (chrome over wood) that was painted at first (lasted 15 years), then wrapped in a black chrome finish. 14/16/18 toms, 24" bass. A Custom crashes and hats, K ride. 1968 wood Rogers Dynasonic and a 1970ish Slingerland Festival snare for when I want to brighten things up.

So after 29 years (with massive breaks in between) I've just played a 1 up 2 down kit for the first time. I have to say I loved it! It made me do things I don't normally do and I had a lot of fun trying things out. It was a DW in a practice room I'd never used before. I don't get to use my own kit (2 up 1 down) much because of my living situation but I will definitely look into putting my 13" on a cymbal stand low next to the 16" instead of on the BD mount when I get the chance.

I just need to revive this thread. Last week I played a session with a bassist and a guitarist, just checking if we click and might form a band. (Side note: we didn't. ;))

During a break the guitarist sat down behind my kit - and that's when he said he'd NEVER seen a drummer play two floor toms. He called it "tribal".

Anyways, I typically play my Superstar Customs as a 1-up/2-down plus a timbale to the left.
