When you can't have a kit...

I just returned from Uni for the summer, and due to space, neighbour and nervous cat concerns at home I don't have my full kit. This is what I'm using for practice:

(sorry for quality and framing; wanted to get my metronome in ;) )

Wondered what practice kit setup anyone else uses when for whatever reason they can't have a real kit or even a "proper" practice kit?

Are your bass drum beaters hitting that second-trilogy Star Wars DVD? If so, that's the best use for one of those I've ever seen, way better than watching it.

It's the novelisation of Ep II. And yup, they're lined up precisely to slam into Hayden Cristensen's face. The motivation I now have to practice double bass can only be a good thing.

That's an awesome idea... Time to find a picture of Oprah to tape to my snare head!

at school last year i was in the dorms and I would set up a drumset consisting of my sweat shirt, my pillow and my bed. I could slam as hard as i wanted with no noise, yet it was extremely unsatisfying, yet better than nothing.

Bringing my set to a buddies garage next year :p

I have a pic of Sarah Palin on my snare. The CEO of BP is on my bass drum.
Obama is on my floor tom.
Just kidding, I like my drums to much to deface them!
