My Future-Father in Law put this together for me, was about to spend the bucks to make it out of Aluminum piping when he spoke up and said he could make me one out of oak. So he being the handy guy I let him go ahead. It turned out quite nicely and even has casters on the bottom.

top shelf
6x14 DW Cast Aluminum in the Wrinkle
5.5x14 DW Stainless Steel (Sounds Amazing)
8x14 DW Birch (Sounds surprisingly nice full and warm, no boxy here)
6x14 DW Cast Bronze (Ultimate Rock Snare)
6.5x14 Craviotto Solid Cherry Shell
6.5x14 Craviotto Unlimited Solid Maple Shell

middle shelf
6x14 Pearl Marching Free floater (Was a 10x14 had a friend that worked at Pearl's custom shop he cut it in half and put a normal strainer on it, powder coated it black and wrapped the shell in WMP)
6.5x14 Pearl Aluminum Sensitone
5.5x14 Yamaha Jimmy Chamberlin Signature snare
6.5x14 Ludwig Hammered Bronze from the 70's, Use to be owned by Jimmy Chamberlin (used it from Mellon Collie all the way though Zwan)
6.5x14 Ludwig Black Beauty

Ten years from now when something is said about too many drums, just remind her that dad approved, he even gave you this rack.

Good job, it looks really nice.

Very, very nice. It won't mark up your snares like a metal one will. It always drives me nuts to go into a drum store and see all these beautiful snares, sitting on bare metal racks, with marks all over the hoops, and lugs.

Nice collect nicely displayed! I noticed you have room on the bottom for a few more! What's next?

Well I finally own pretty much everything I've wanted. Getting married next year so I'm trying to get my toys in order for the time being. Snares I've been looking at next to purchase would be either a AK Italian NOB snare 5.5x14, the joyful noise one in the same flavor or if I can get my hands on the craviotto diamond series I might get one of those. I've played and researched those and every pro that I talk to say if they could have only one snare this would be the drum. So the hunt is on.

Really nice! Amazing collection, too. Do you think you might need some supports in the center to keep the dowels from sagging, over time? Oak is hard but eventually they might start warping with all of that weight on them.

We were thinking the same but these are oak dowels that a inch and a quarter thick, they use them for closet rods to hold clothes so it's possible for them to sag over time but the support on the sides is plenty enough. I spoke to a few people at a wood shop in nashville and they said it's very unlikely for it to sag overtime. I put my cast bronze on the top shelf with the rest and I can see a little flexing so i moved it to the bottom shelf by itself and put it all the way to the end so it can have extra support of the side.

If you ever want to sell the cherry Craviotto...

That looks great! I was planning on getting a shelving unit for my snare collection, but building something like that would be an option to consider.

Excellent snare collection too :)

Here's some more pics of my two kits
