Man, I
never get tired of looking at Ludwig kits!!
Lots of great stuff so far!
I'm a real sucker for Chrome-O-Wood and Natural maple.....
And
one day, I'll get a Sabian 24" china like Bermudas!
Here's a couple pics of my Ludwig stuff in different configs.
2007 Classic Maple Red Sparkle:
This is the most recent set-up.
20x26" kick
6.5 Black Beauty (tube lugs, straight hoops, Millenium strainer)
6.5 Red Sparkle Classic maple snare...soon to be a 12x14 2nd hat side ft.
9x13 rack
2-14x16 ft (1 Left, 1 Right side)
16x18 ft
Sabian cymbals:
15" AA sizzle hats
10" Paragon top, old Zildjian EFX1 bottom "mini-hats".
Of course, the most expensive splash they had was the one that sounded best to make the "hats"...
2-19" crashes (Med. & Med. Thin)
24" AA med. ride w/3 rivets
20" Vault crash
20" AA Orchestral Suspended with a rivet chain
21" AA med Thin, with rivet chain, under a...
21" AAX chinese w/rivets
how the china under the 21" crash is boomed in...
Opening for The (new) Cars. Same kit used opening for Toto.
2-21" AAX chinese w/rivets, & 8" splash
Sable Black kit.
Same sizes as above, minus the side snare.
Here's how the double chinas were boomed in. Used on both kits.
With a 10x13 rack, 13X15 (hat side) FT
With "the Gong"
15" AA sizzle hats
22" HH Jazz ride
21" AA Med. thin
28" Wuhan Wind Gong
Side snare: 5" World Max Black Dawg
13x15 hat side ft behind side snare.
In the studio...20x26" kick and a 24" ride!
Alex Van Halen recommended this snare to me.
It's signed on the inside by Bun E. Carlos
The BB with Imperial Lugs is a Bronze shell from '89.
Custom job because of the lugs, and only 10 lugs on this 8"
God...what a
PAIN it was to get this thing done, but worth it in the end.
It sounds great.
Not a 'real' Black Beauty, but still pretty darn nice.
That's enough for now
Post more Ludwig people!
