I kind of did. I have a foreign made 4 piece kit that is in pretty good shape(no label). It had a hideous blue wrap and I have been reading all these posts about stripping them. I used a painters heat gun and it practically fell off. It was obviously a re-wrap and not a good one at that. It looks so much better in natural wood and I plan on getting it stained and varnished. I'm not sure if I am going to tackle it or find someone to do it. In the mean time I am playing my next gig with it just to see how it does. It's almost like having a new kit.

Never did. I surmise it is somewhere in South America by now.

Played that kit tonight. No one even noticed I played a different kit. Horn players. As soon as the weather gets warmer (maybe in July) I will stain and varnish it. I'll put up pics then.
