Default Re: What is your cymbal Setup?

This is the set up I have been using for the last year or so.
L-R
15" SE hats
20" 2002 CRASH
24" 2002 CRASH
22" 2002 CRASH

I also use a 28" Wuhan Wind Gong.

I use just the hats and the 20 & 24" cymbals a lot. I get a great amount of sounds and dynamics out of these, so having "more" isn't really necessary for me. It's a lot of fun, playing with just a few pieces too. More than I would have ever thought 5 years ago.

Right now:

16" socks (Sabian Pro Series crash bottom / Sabian B8 Pro crash top)
20" crash (actually a 20" B8 Pro ride, used more often as a main crash)
22" ride (Zildjian ZHT ride, also crashed on a few occasions)

I use Bosphorus New Orleans series.

The cymbals are perfect for use in many musical styes, I play mostly Funk, but I also love
Soul, Jazz, rock, Afro beat and Reggae.

14 or 16 Hi-hat 850/1080g and 1185/1394g
18 Crash 1392g
20 Ride with one rivet 1756g
21 Ride 2100g
22 Thrash Crash with two rivets 2031g

the 16 HH and the 22 Trash Crash is a custom order. The thrash Crash is based on the 20 Stanton Moore trash Crash but made in the New Orleans series wit the special lathing an a little bit drier than the SM.

For me this is a perfect set of cymbals and I vary the set up from using one hh and one cymbal to the full set up depending on the situation.

Downsized to just 4 now:

20" Meinl Byzance Traditional Heavy Ride
17" Zildjian K Custom Fast Crash
16" Sabian Artisan Crash
13.25" Zildjian K Custom Hybrid Hats

Might add a 17" Zildjian K china, but I need to try it out first to make sure it's not too brash and gongy.
