I'm looking for a metal snare for less than £200 that is loud and versatile. I already have a 13" by 5.5" Craviotto birdseye maple snare that is beautiful but unfortunately it is both temperamental and not really suitable for the range of songs I need to play in my functions band. Not sure whether to maybe get something second-hand but its a risk not being able to check out stuff on ebay. Also, there are no drum shops near by so I need the drummerworld wisdom on this one.
