I thought it was about time I introduced this amazing emerging talent to you. I first met Nicolas through Yolanda Charles, & he's one of the most exciting players I've heard in a long time. Ultra dynamic - explosive even - Nicolas has such an expressive touch to partner with his impressive chops.

Here's a few clips to give you some idea of Nicolas' work:

Jam with Yolanda Charles & Hadrien Feraud https://youtu.be/vgvj8TIi8ww?t=4m50s

& even a thump on a Guru Tour kit (Nicolas endorses Gretsch drums) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5lTMgJn404

Andy, this guy is awesome!

I felt a little better when I saw that he has already achieved a level of notoriety.

If this was just a guy you "discovered" bashing around I would have felt totally hopeless. As it is, I'm just mostly so.

Jeff, if you feel hopeless, imagine how I felt having to step up on the jam stage directly after him!!!!!

Seriously, he's a very modest & all round lovely guy, but I thought it was about time someone introduced him on this forum. He's a huge talent. One of many operating just under the global radar, but I think Nicolas has something distinctive to offer. I've met many other players of his standard in the last couple of years too. Somewhat surprising, & equally disheartening, that such talent is lurking below the surface. I guess there's even less room at the top table than there used to be.

Great player, thanks for making us, well me anyway aware of him.

Awwy wha u woing wo we?

Sorry, my jaw was on the floor. Thanks a lot. I had a really nice gig last night and was feeling really good till I saw this lol. It amazes me what's possible on a set of drums. This guy is really something else.

He really has a lot to offer IMHO, & I think he has a place here :)

My first exposure to him some time ago with Gergo Borlai. Quite a firestorm on this.

Yes, I saw that video too. It's impressive, but nowhere near the environment where he shines. I hugely admire the skill of Gergo too, but he's a very different player to Nicolas. Nicolas has a dynamic & touch I relate to.

I'll quote my experience of having to take the stage after him Larry. I can only suggest the crowd were extremely generous towards me.

Larry, Nicolas' work here, supporting Yolanda's bass solo, is just so tasty (as is the drum solo that follows).

I suggest stopping viewing from 9:25 onwards ;)
