I didn't chicken out.
I cut down the Yamaha stage custom bop kit and gave it 8 lugs.

Good for you! YOU manipulate and play those drums. If it works better for you now, then it's all good!

Good for you! I have lots of admiration for those of you with the skill and patience to modify drums and make them more to your liking.

The best I've ever been able to do is switch out lugs. I know, big whoop.

Hey, that's cool!
I like what you did there.
Isn't a big deal to fill those holes with some wood filler either...or leave em' !
I like 5 piece bop kits, you're right you don't see many of those...

Ya - the holes. Instead of a problem, they might be an opportunity to get a little creative.
How about some leather lacing. Maybe some chrome spiked nuts/bolts.
Maybe some multi colored plugs. Got any wild ideas? - LOL

If I filled them, I'd never match the existing lacquer. You can't see them unless you get up close.
But if they're not going to match, might just as well make them stand out, right?

Never thought of it that way, I like it!
Yeah, some jewelry or leather or chrome nuts and bolts...what about a stick holder contraption of some sort?

I think you should incorporate some macrame.

Sorry, I'll shut up.
