I've been experimenting with close-micing in addition to the recorderman overhead plus kick method. Unfortunately my tom mics were delayed due to a train derailment(I'm not making this up, that's what UPS tracking said).
Anyway I mic'ed up my Maple customs with:
1 Pair of oktava mk-012's in recorderman position
an Audix D6 just in the kick hole
a Sennheiser e604 on the snare
I'm new to recording and just started experimenting with processing. Here are three files:
1. Alll four channels with processing (reverb, gating and compression)
2. All four channels dry
3 Control - just the overheads and kick mic dry
5 bonus points for anyone who guesses the song.
Your comments and suggestions are welcome.
