Hi Folks
Here's mine.
Brass 14"x7" of pure drum porn.
I loved it so much I went and bought a 14"x6.5" chrome over aluminium as well.
Remo coated controlled sound batter on the brass, Evans reverse dot batter on the aluminium,
Evans Hazy 3oo reso's and 20 strand Puresound Blasters on both.
These are the best snares I have ever played and I have played a few-))
Skunk.

That's only the second weckl snare at 6.5 inches deep I've ever seen, very rare, I know coz I've got the only other one I've heard of.

Yep...the 6.5's were only made for approx. 2-3 yrs. ...the serial # on mine is 0087...and I'll say this as well..I've owned both the 5.5 & 6.5...I definitely like the 6.5 better...

Also the first time anyone knew anything at all about that drum. Cheers!

Yep...the 6.5 is much rarer than the 5.5, so I definitely would keep it...I've ony seen 2 or 3 6.5's on ebay in the last 5 years..and probably triple that for the 5.5's..awesome snare!

This is my 1968 Yamaha snare drum, Blue Willow wrap, from a D20 kit, which was one of Yamaha's first run of drumsets.

The bearing edges are in relatively good condition (for being older than I am!).

That finish is called Blue Thunder-7.jpg

This is my Yamaha Maple Custom Definitive snare.
I rarely use this snare since I prefer my other one, but it's part of the kit so I plan to sell it with the kit.
It's 14*6, but it looks a little distorted since I used an wide angle lens for the camera.

This is my 5.5 x 14 Maple Custom Absolute snare that I got with my kit ten years ago. I just got the Vintage hoops for it a few weeks back. I love what they've done for the drum.

Nice Snare Fuzrock!..those 5.5X14 maple custom Abs. really sound nice!...

My 14x7 MCA with nouveau lugs in Vintage Black finish. This drum is surprisingly light because it has a thin shell and sounds amazing.

thanks scorch, I had my heart set on vintage natural but unless you're lucky enough to find one it's a special order and takes forever to get

Just picked this beauty up for $250- could almost be classified as theft. It has some minor rust on the flanged hoops but it shouldn't be hard to remove it.

This is my first snare with flanged hoops, I've always had die cast. Haven't tuned it up yet as I spent the day stripping and cleaning it up.

I see I have been lucky enough to get one Dave weckl Signature Aluminum snare in the 14"x6,5" size, unused, i didn't even know it existed with that size (i thought his old series snares were all 14x5.
I also got Two of his old maple signature snares, the ones with the aluminum rims and micro gold lugs.
I did notice thought he older one of them came with the mini lugs with the hole for the shell mounting screw closer to the edges, and the newer one has the lugs with that hole closer to the center of the shell, i will keep just one of them and besides that diffrence, they are both in mint condition...
I would like to know, if anyone knows why they changed the design of the lugs, and also if anyone knows which might be better... i have to check wich model has the Aluminum one, but i also own a Seamles custom cooper yammy, and it has the mini lugs with the shell mounting screw hole closer to the center of the shell and not the other way around.
My guess is that the lug would resist better the stress with the newer configuration....
Any opinions about this?
I will be uploading some pics to flicker or some other place and share them here later:
Thanks in advance for any info or advice on this matter!

Yes, you're right about the lugs and resisting stress. As you tighten them up they tip away from the shell slightly, yamaha obviously realised thus was bad and changed the design.

Since I posted my 6.5 on here I've picked up the original 13", and the new brass 14" so I've got all 5 now, well pleased and thinking of selling two of my ludwig milleniums and a 400B as I'll only really play Yamahas or my pearl custom classic from now on.
I believe my yamaha snares are better quality than my Ludwigs, they are better sounding and easier to get a great sound than my Ludwigs too.
