Yeah, the transition from playing and owning intermediate kits to the MMX took more than 30 years to make. It's not like I had the cash on hand to go out and buy this kit. I had to save and make payments. It took some time, but boy oh boy was it worth it!
Anyone that is like I was in their thinking that there is no real difference between a mid level kit and a full on pro kit, hasn't sat behind a Masters MMX, Mapex Orion, Yamaha MCA etc.
Oh sure, with good heads and tuning technique you can get a more than adequate sound from a mid level set. I did that for 30+ years! There is just something special (fat price aside)
about owning a pro kit. The tone and projection, the ease of tuning, finish quality.
The MMX is amazing!!
The color on some of the pix I posted are on the dark side, but in person the kit is a touch lighter in color sans the black HW.
