My Yamaha Beech Custom

I just picked this kit up from Craigslist today. Yamaha Beech Custom in (I believe) lime green. Dimensions are 9x10, 10x12,12x14, and 17x22. The snare is a 7x13 Pork Pie Brass Patina

I haven't put new heads on or tuned them yet and I'm already loving the sound. The kick drum sounds especially huge. The toms have nice clear tones.

I'm likely going to sell my Tama Starclassic Maple and keep this kit. I can't really afford to keep both around, although I'd like to. It came with cases and cost me less than my Starclassics! (same configuration: 10, 12, 14, 22)

The kit is awesome. I like 'em Yamahas To me personally, the finish is strange, but it's the sound that matters. Do you really think they sound better than Starclassics?

I wouldn't say either one is better. Different, I think. It's hard to tell when you factor in heads and tuning.

But I like how they sound, they are in better cosmetic shape, I like the finish, and I like the bass drum tom mount (my Starclassic kit has a virgin bass drum).

I still need some more time to make a decision though!
