Wowza, you must have earned some big ole karma points somewhere along the way. Fantastic!
As Tamadrm and others said, NO steel wool on the chrome. I haven't tried the dishsoap method, but that is inexpensive. I've had great results with "Nevr-Dull" (a can of fleecy stuff soaked in something ... car guys love it). I think you can get it at Walmart.
BTW, the inspector (aka the cat) looked concerned about the bass drum edges. Did he give them a thumbs up? ;-)
