Need a huge kick, is 60 inches enough?

This one comes at a whopping 60" x 23,5", 30 kilogram. I wonder how it sounds.

I would imagine there would be some serious leg fatigue using that as a kick. That's a lot of air you have to move.

Better go 62" just to be sure. The nice thing about that size is that you can tune it to sound like a 60" drum, if necessary for the gig.

I heard rumors at the NAMM show that DW was coming out with a 63" bass drum this year...

Notice that it's in the "historic" category and is obviously not intended for drumset use.

I heard it was going to be 14" deep, so it should thump pretty well.

The rest of the set has to match and be just as big. The worlds tasllest man should play it with a pair of those giant drumsticks, with 2 - 60" Paiste gongs as hi hats.

Interesting, in the OP's pic that's not the 60" BTW, or at least not per their web sites specs, which list the 60" as having a whopping 46 tension screws...also interesting. Counting rods/claws in their pics I get even numbers, all their specs list odd numbers.

Example: In the OP's pic, the drums have 12 rods/claws per side. their spec sheet says 22, which would equal their listed 11 per side, and 1 leather tensioner for between the front and back lugs.
