shitty kit but i upgraded all the cymbals and heads so it sounds pretty decent. sorry for the blue color. and yes the ride is coming from the bass drum, i love it set up that way. also, i used an old snare stand to hold up the tom.

cymbals:
- 14" a custom mastersounds
- 18" a custom crash
- 19" a custom crash
- 21" a series sweet ride
- 18" oriental china trash

900 series pearl hi hat stand
sp double bass (i know its bad)
sp boom stands
remo pinstripes and powerstroke on snare

Interesting set up! I like the ride position. By the way, the Accent series isn't a crappy kit. I found them to be well made and good sounding. You shouldn't put your kit down. Drums are what you make them!
A $10.000 kit can be made to sound awful in the wrong hands. it's not how much your drums cost that make them good.
I also use PowerStroke heads on my snares. I really like them.

.....some guy at guitar center told me they were crappy ....
Please don't believe too much of what the guys at Guitar Center say. The Accent kit simply "is what it is". Neither is it equal to a DW kit, nor is it a POS.
With regard to your set-up (placement). I started running my ride dead center of the kick, and moved my lone rack tom to the right of the kick. Closed the gap between the rack and floor from feet to inches.
