Nice Pics!!!

Now I'm ready to order my S-classix... I'm still choosing the finsh... :s

I'm between Walnut Roots, Evony, or Grained Maple....

what shoul I choose?!!!!!!

So I've been working on these drums for a whole year (minimum) and they are finally ready to play!. :)
I got everything here by paying cash (didnt want anymore debt) in several large chunks.
My Protection Racket bags are coming tomorrow (still need a good hardware case though) and then all I have to do is find a place to play and/or a band to jam with. I'm thinking Craigslist or something.
I am 41 an I've been playing off and on for 30 years. I hope theres something out there for me. :)

Things to still add before its totally done (yeah right...lol).

1 more Crash and 1 China with stands
2 Splashes with boom arms
1 Double pedal
All new heads
Pork Pie 13x7" Little Squeeler Snare

Home, those are gorgeous drums and congrats n the patience not to use the evil plastic. what model are those? 3007? the color is the deepest red I have seen.

This is my new Sonor 50th anniverary Long & McQuade edition kit in red birdseye maple.

Snare - 14"x5"
Tom - 12"x 9"
Floor tom 16"x 16"
Kick - 24" x17"

Cymbals
Zildjian A Custom
14" hats
16" crash
18" crash
20" medium ride

Pearl, Yamaha, and Sonor stands. Tama Iron Cobra Jr. pedal.

I bought these drums used from Long & McQuade in Burlington, ON. Canada. I was going to buy a Pearl Forum kit but I saw this one and had to have it. I got a awesome deal on them too. I paid $530.00 CAD for them (not including cymbals, throne or BD pedal). The cymbals I got for an amazing deal too. The were $680.00 regualr price but I got them for 50% that price with a free cymbal bag. Which is awesome considering separately they cost over $1200.00. The pedal I already had. They need to be cleaned but I have no idea how to clean this kind of finish.

Thanks man, I'm really enjoying them and the cymbals were a sweet deal. I was skeptical of them at first because I've always used Sabian or Paiste but they sound awesome. And yes, the drums are all maple, I believe they are the same shells as the 3005/3007. Not sure though.

My Sonor DeLite in Birdseye Cherry. Sizes are 20 / 10 / 12 / 14 but I also have an 8" tom & matching snare drum (which is one of the best drums I have ever played) not shown here.

SQ2 birch medium shells finished in bubinga.

8x7, 10x7, 12x8, 15x13 & 20x17

More - http://smg.photobucket.com/home/DaveB/recentuploads

I want your drums (probably some different sizes because I'm really debating on whether I still want/would use an 8" time anymore) in a similar finish... I love the natural wood finish and now seeing the white bass drum head on it I know that the dark roots/bubinga finish is exactly what I want.

How do they sound? My debate over the drum sizes is coming in whether or not I could tune up a 10" tom to be pretty bright without giving it that sort of stiff feel or boingy jazz tone without quite hitting bop tuning that I get with a lot of drums I've tried to do it with. Ironically, my old high school's set of birch Force 2007s did this fairly well and I could get that 10" tom almost to the point of where my maple 8" Force 3007 was... I do want birch for my upper toms at least because of that brighter tone they'll give me as opposed to maple. I'd just rather hear from someone who actually owns the drums rather than guessing on a potential major purchase.

Absolutely gorgeous drums, man.

Really nice finish on this kit! I've had a play around on a DeLite before and thought they sounded great!

Yes, I really love the look of these drums. Up close they are quite breathtaking... I think I have always wanted a red kit since seeing Big Paul Ferguson play with Killing Joke back in the 80s!
These drums sound terrific too - & the Sonor pro mounting system is superior to most others IMO. I don't ever intend to part with this set!

Thanks man, I have to say that they came out better than I had hoped they would.

I haven't had the chance to play them properly yet, but I will say that so far they are honestly the best sounding drums I've played or owned, and if you've seen what else I have, that's a hard thing to say I think. The tuning range of the drums is huge. Even the 8" drum at a moderate tuning has sustain and depth, which I wasn't expecting, and sounds like a 10.

I think given what you've said, you probably wouldn't have too much of an issue with tuning a 10 up although you might have to mess around with head choices to get it right. I've got the standard ambassador on my 10 and it will tune up reasonably high without getting overly pingy, but I guess ultimately you'd have to hear it for yourself to make your mind up. I tend to tune my toms down a bit and they work well for me in that regard.

Hope that helps a bit.

Here is my brand new Force 3007 in Smooth Brown Burst. I'm very happy with the color and just want to say that the finishes look so much better in real than on the sonor web site.

Awesome looking finish on the website and going with it. If you say it looks much better in person, I guess im in for a nice treat.
