22 " OM at 2345g. A friend who's heard them all says this one is something REAL special on the ears. Agop meets elements of an old Turkish K {profile shape for one} creating something new and very cool sounding in a modern made and sounding handmade Turkish pie in the process. Extensive hand hammering and post lathing hammering on this cymbal blended with its striking appearence from the Agop special secret patina process hit the bullseye. Hats off to Cindy Blackman and Agop for bringing this ride and the whole rest of the OM series to the table. Nice on top stick click, smokey, very dark and dry with a really pleasing sounding lush "in control" wash. Outstanding acoustic jazz ride sound! Last edited by Steamer; 11-01-2009 at 12:35 AM. |

Beautiful cymbal, Steamer. I've had my 22" for quite some time now and it's definitely my go-to ride.

For those interested in such cymbal details here's some comparitive pictures regarding profile and close up edge profile details of an Old Stamp Turkish K Zildjian IIb {1940-45} of mine and my new Agop OM.
Take note of the general profile shape of each and the flat little section {dip/lip} at the outer edge of each cymbal. First up two of the Old Stamp K followed directly by the Agop OM. Both sets of 2 images with a similar camera angle used in each: |

Here's some more comparitive pictures focusing on the lower bell/bridge and upper bell shapes on the same Old Stamp Turkish K as seen in the previous pics and the modern Agop OM.
Lower bell/bridge on each one after the other with the Old Stamp K shown first followed by the OM directly underneath it. Next set of pictures focus on the upper bell shapes of each cymbal. Again Old Stamp K first followed directly by the OM bell: |
