My homemade octoban project

Last post on this thread until I make the next set. I had my son mess around on the kit to show the new Remo Coated Emperor heads, along with some playing of the octos.

Sorry to revive an old thread. I am starting to do this. I ordered 2 6' pieces. I plan on making 8. Did you use a hacksaw to cut the acrylic? Also, did the bearing edges improve the sound dramatically? As I said, I am just starting this project.
 
I thought I'd post an updated soundfile of what they sound like now. I'm using Evans G2 clear heads, these I like the best of the 4 different types I've used so far (Remo Pinstripe, coate Ambassador, Evans EC1, and G1). I stopped using the shortest two octobans, because they don't offer much tone, just attack.

Listen from 2:30 to 2:50 and you can hear them being played while I jam with my 14 year old son on the guitar:
