I bought these Premier "Projectors" back in 1992, have used them for many gigs and studio sessions, and they look almost new. They are all birch drums, in a really nice lacquer deep blue finish, and actually have 7 pieces in total. I remember the R.I.M.S. hoops were sort of new when I got them. Definitely a great sounding kit, built to last. I recently acquired a Signia 14x14 floor tom, in the same finish, as an add-on, shown in this photo.

From 1961 I believe. Sounds very decent and have used the snare on a couple of recordings and it sounds great, very nice and dry with a good response and attack. The bass drum sounds very big, despite only being somewhere between a 20" and 22" The Toms have that classic sound and I have all the original Cymbals, Hardware, Cowbell and Pedal. Got given it by a friend for £0.00.

Debating on getting it re-wrapped currently as it hasn't aged great. Also, about to remortgage our house so I'm able to afford a whole set of Pre-International Heads as I'd like to use this at a one off gig in the coming months.

(Excuse the fancy 'Drum Stool', my main was setup on my main kit)

Ooooh. That is a beautiful machine Sir. I'll bet that 26" kicker just makes you smile every time you hit it.

Is that kick a different finish than the toms or is that just the lighting? Any hope of just seeing a picture of the snare?

Also, has anyone ever told you that you look like a burly Rob Halford? I'm a huge Priest fan so please don't take that as anything but a compliment.

Hi Red
As requested the snare
The kit is all in the same finish.
No problem with the Rob Halford comparison.
I realised long ago I was not built for ballet dancing.

Damn Ballet dancin'. We were built fer' drummin'!

That's a beautiful snare. If I had one of those it would have no clear coat left on it because I'd polish it up every week like a brand new Cadillac.

These are my premiers limited edition i think they are xpk series have owned them for about 13 years has anyone out there seen thid finish before? I am looking for a matching snare because they came with a steel snare. These are made out of birch and eucalyptus wood they sound as good as they look. Sorry about the one pic is a bit dark but you get the idea. Its time to clean them up a bit.

Very nice!!!
Of everything I have ever seen from the company, the Signia is my favorite. They look elegant, yet gutsy. They would look at home in any style because of the design. APK/XPK are nice also. These three models look well crafted.

I'd like to hear a kit built with eucalyptus like they did at one point.

I own one with the birtch and eucalyptus they sound great!

Here's my Premier Signia Sapphire Blue, a beast.

BD: 22"
T1: 10"
T2: 12"
T3: 13"
T4: 16"

With a Gretsch 5,5 x 14 Maple Snare with Walnut hoops

The cymbals are (left to right)

16" A Zildjian Medium Thin Crash
14" Dream Bliss Hi Hats
20" A Zildjian Medium Thin Crash (which I often use as a ride)
20" A Zildjian Crash Ride
16" Dream Bliss Crash (a jewel...)
20" Dream Bliss Ride (which I riveted and use as a crash most of the time, it's very thin and has a lot of bass frequencies, it makes a great sound: exactly between a thin crash and a very light china.)
