My former Recording Custom kit in Apple Sparkle fade lacquer. Some unique touches on this kit. I purchased it from a Yamaha Endorser and he ordered it with clear interiors and Yamaha aluminum Diecast hoops. Sizes were 20 x 16; 12 x 8 and 15 x 13 floor tom. Yep, not a typo 15" floor tom. I love this drum sonically, but it was a bugger to find heads at local shops.

LITERALLY..NOT EVEN PLAYIN..a drop of drool fell out of my mouth from staring with my mouth open for too long. That kit is so cool. Very interesting with that finish on a RC and an RC with die-cast and a 15" isnt that-that weird for Yamaha but I still would like to have a kit with a floor tom that size...Very Cool

I've not seen many of those kits. I bet they sound pretty good. The finish on yours is really rich looking. Not too light or too dark, really nice. Some are so dark you can't see the grain. Very nice kit.

Nice kit. I wanted some of those real bad when they came out. I've always liked yellow also. There was a kit like that at the store I use to frequent. I remember Yamaha's adds saying " THE MONSTER IS COMING" I don't think yours are turbos though. Turbos are the same depth as Dia. 12X12 and so on. I think they came out in 89. I had just bought Power Tour Customs in 88. 10X12 and 11X13 are the toms. I think it was the next yr. that the Turbo Tour Customs came out, 89 or so. None the less, those are great drums.

I finally took some pics. of my Yamaha PTC's I bought them new in 88. I sold the snare in the mid 90's, and it was sold again with a kit. I looked up the person on face book, and he said he still had it. He lived in Arkansas now (I'm in Kansas) I ended up trading a nearly new OCDP Ash for my old snare. It's in kind of bad shape now, but the shell is still intact, and I like it. My tastes in snares have changed. After I bought the OCDP snare I thought to myself, I bet I'd like that old yamie now. That's what got the deal rolling. I'm glad to get it back. These drums feel so strange to me now. I've been playing 2 shallow toms on a 20" kick for several yr. They sound good though.

Great to see all of the fantastic kits on the Yamaha page. I bought this kit new in 1988. From 1995 until 2 months ago it's sat at my parents house in Western Canada while I lived in an apartment in Miami. Finally they've come home. They sound as good today as they did in the 80's. So many times I've thought about buying a DW Collector's Series kit to replace them. No need. These drums are perfect.
