Post your Gig Pics

It's great to see such a wide variety of drummers that come to this forum.

My favorite picture of myself playing live:

And just for completeness (and hilarity): playing the original mongrel with Video Free Europe at the Rat in Boston's Kenmore Square, September as well: but of 1983.... Photo, courtesy of Dave Sheppard.

If we can laugh at ourselves, we will always be amused.... (;-)

I don't have any gig pictures, but here's us trying to record a demo in my school's old gym. It sounded awful, so we decided to abort that. We're gonna try to find a different recorder and try again soon.

May not be a gig, but its still a cool photo.

Some photos of my band playing Mini-Mappfest (a charity festival held in Great Malvern, England back in feb). The last photo is from our most recent gig. I play the last song of our set on just the snare.

Here are a few from a variety of gigs. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th photos are from occasions I had to play a common drum kit in a multiple band situation and being a lefty, and in a hurry to adjust the kits, I had toms and cymbals in weird places, angles and heights. LOL

Story of my life, dozens of pictures of the band, one with me. But this is from Saturday.

It's a rare treat for me to get to perform with a great jazz pianist on an unmiked grand piano.
Here's a shot from a trio gig earlier this week.

Thanks! I've been using a 5x14 snare in floor tom position (with throwoff, snares etc removed from the drum) and a micro-timbale snare in the rack tom position (also with snare mechanism removed) for the past couple of years with small groups and love the character
of the sound, especially the usefulness of the micro-timbale which I have tuned to act as
a tom (when played between the lugs, near the rim) yet still provide a timbale crack for latin
tunes. I prefer this sound for the gigs I get. The sound off the bricks was great. We played at a whisper with very quiet brushes and all was balanced and heard. When the piano was played
harder I didn't have to slack off with the sticks at all...we dug in..FUN!

Beautiful! Is that Cedar Walton you are with?

Not Cedar! It's Donnie who happens to love Cedar's playing. Donnie had his own trios in NYC
in the 1950's and became the house pianist in the LA Playboy Club (nice gig, eh?) in the
1960's. He is an extraordinary jazz artist and it is a great honor to get to play with him.

From a private party gig this past weekend:
