Show us your tiny kits

This is my "haul down a narrow flight of steep stairs to a room so small you have to go outside to change your mind" practice set up. It is a Sonor Froce 2001 with a 14"dia X 16" length floor tom/bass drum. I am going to get a 12" snare to go with it. Not something I'd use to gig out but for practicing in the guitar player's "dungeon o' practice" it works pretty well.

Re: Show us your tiny ktits

Friend has - hats, ride, bass, floor, snare. It's perfect!

I once played a song (for some local internet-TV-stuff) with only a snare on the side and the floor as my bassdrum. I looked kinda like a monkey because of the hoody and my beard, and the way I sit. They (gitarist&vocalist) were was asked to play on a one day notice, and the 3 of us had never played together as a group. But still they wanted me to play, and this is how it turned out :p

She is an absolute beauty! I didn't do the conversion on the bass drum, though...I bought it
"pre-converted". The thing is cherry, and sounds just as sweet as one. Also, the snare is of particular interest, because it was a "Tone Flange" model that somebody took off the flange, removed the screws, and carved it down and cut the bearing edges (that's why the tension rods on top are so short). Nice 80+ year old single-ply mahogany shell with the first-ever version of a sparkle wrap, which looks like a golden sand. Drummers always ask me about it at gigs because it sounds so amazing and looks so unique. Not to brag or anything... :D

Caddywumpus, you seem to know a lot about gear, are a seamlessly versatile musician, and apparently play out incessantly. Can you give us same names and dates? I looked on your public profile and there is no indication of the groups you play with. I just moved to the area and would like to glean from you.

Then here's me, my dad, and nephew playing our "tiny kits". This is as small as it gets around my house

Sorry about slow response ... thx Wonder1, love the cocktail kits.

Hailukah - great suitcase kit!

Noticing a few four-legged kick drums here. Good for lugging, a pain to set up.

I'm just about disqualified from my own thread now ... still have the RT, but it now includes a ride, a CR & a splash with both 12" and 8" toms (and still have the djembe). I'm morphing into neal Peart ... it's now three loads to the car!

That's how all the kits in this threads should look like (except the suitcase kits) I really love this stuff!!!

Great kit there Wonder1! Would it be possible to let us know what your snare and kick drum are made of? I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like what you have there.

Thanks!

Hi.. I use a floor tom (16 x 16) as a little bass drum, and a homemade snare (10 x 5.5).. As hihats, a splash and a crash cut to 10 inches.. now I use a 10 murat renaissance splash as top hat...
