Does anyone here have any Neil Peart Replica kits
from the 1970's and 1980's?
Just curious.
I'm not talking about a 4-5 piece kit either.
I'm talking the REAL-DEAL, like
Gong Bass Drums, Timbales, Concert Toms,
Percussion Racks holding up the
Crotales, Temple Blocks, Long WindChimes, Bell Tress, etc.
Does anyone here have that kind of kit?
I someone parting a kit like that on flebay on Wednessday,
so I was just curious.

Don't know if you've seen this, but Andy Olson has a webpage that includes many notable replicas of Neil's kit, and also in the "History of the kit" portion of his page, traces where each of the actual kits Neil played are today. Might give you some leads/ideas...

Thanks, but I already know about that page, and have for a
very long time.
I was asking if anyone HERE in this forum has
any kits like Neil's old kits?
I was looking to interact and get some info.

Not exactly Rush, but close in some regards. There are other posters on here with even bigger kits than mine, but it is a vintage Slingerland with a few bells and whistles. In fact, it may be gone later this afternoon as I need to buy a car for my daughter going off to college soon, but at least they're replaceable some day if I choose to. Check out the "show your kit " threads around here. There are some really creative large kits floating around here...here's mine...

Did i see that slingerland kit at GC in Round Rock?

Union and mandelbaum...the ports were done using a metal plate image of the state of Texas and the Longhorn was done using an actual football helmet sticker. Who said drum ports had to be round? The kit may be in the Round Rock area as I sold it to a guy from Austin several years ago and often wondered what happened to it. He had it on C/list in Austin not long after he bought it but I never followed up on it. Was a nice one to be sure. Maybe again one day...

I was inspired by Neil Peart to start playing the drums. Although "the best drummer ever" is a very subjective subject, as there are plenty of drummers who are better in some areas than other drummers, the bet will never be agreed upon. But keeping with the original subject, I modeled my current kit after Neils set up since we like to play a lot of Rush, it just made sense. Here are some pics. The room is small and I don't have a decent camera to get it all in one pic. It's not necessarily an 80's replica. Probably a more current rendition.
