The ridiculously priced ebay gear thread.

ive gotten some pretty good deals. none of which were from ebay.

but i like this thread. it gives me hope haha

I got the 21" Bionic Ride from Ebay for $119.95 +25 shipping. Looks like new. (It regularly goes for around $400-425 new.)

Then I won the 17" Bionic crash, which was evidently "old stock" for about $121 and change, including shipping. It was brand new and still in the bag. (It regularly sells for around $325-340 new.)

I no longer have it but a few years ago I won a DW 5000 double pedal and case for $175. (Many thanks to the seller for labeling it a PW 500!)

I got a new 20" K Custom hybrid ride for 150, K Custom hybrid 19" for 130, k ride 20" for 100, and an A custom projection 18" for 80. Till this day I can not believe my luck

Wow, you must have done some digging to find this thread.

What's up with the bell? it looks like it's been fractured several times and then re-welded...

Hopefully it sounds good!

Not fractured at all. UFIP are all centrifugal cast into their final shape from the beginning, unlike most everyone else who roll out the bronze and then press a bell into it. The top side of the Bionic ride is unlathed, similar to the old Zildjian Earth Ride. (The bottom side is micro-lathed and had a brilliant finish, just like the crashes.) What you're looking at is drip from the initial spin cast, left intact.

It sounds amazing, especially the bell.
