Beautiful!

I resemble that statement though - my modern Ludwig Classics are the exact same size (with the exception of my 6.5x14 Supra)!

Thanks Bo, I've always been a 24" fiend, just feels right to me. Is there pics of your Luddies in this thread? I haven't read the whole thread yet. To me those old Slingies and the like mark the birth of the modern drum kit.

You mean they make kits with more than 4pcs? (I kid)

You know, I don't know if I posted them here or not. Here they are, set-up and ready to go backstage for a festival we did in Chicago a few weeks ago....it's classic and modern at the same time ;)

I keep going back and forth about going with flat-based straight cymbal stands for the look, but I haven't had good luck with them since people are always grabbing my stuff to move it from place-to-place, that's when things fall over. I find with the tripod cymbal stands, at least people can't knock them over as easily. And I'm not sure if I want to have two sets of cymbal stands just so I can look cool on some gigs and not others ;)

As Billy Crystal's "Fernando" character used to say, "It is better to look good than to feel good!"

I've been digging these a lot lately. Not ideal for every gig, but they sure are fun to play!

Radio King
14x28
8x12
12x14
4x14 Supralite

Booty Shaker iso things on the floor tom legs and rack tom stand...pretty cool.

Your Kits are so sexy and classy. They make me have impure thoughts.

From tonight's gig...1958 26x10 Ludwig bass drum from my uncle's drum corps, 1958 Ludwig 14" floor tom, and a 10" rack I built myself. Sorry bout the slightly fuzzy phone photo.....

Just got this Yamaha Hip Gig kit with Cannister throne and bags the other week. It's going on it's maiden voyage at rehearsal with one of my bands tomorrow night. I have wanted one of these kits since they came out. I really like the Cannister throne.

All Gretsch

1) 2012 Drop G badge- (snare is 125th Anniversary 2008 Round Badge) 18/12/14 4.5x14
Champagne Sparkle. The black (1958 Anniversary Sparkle) 16 floor tom in the photo belonged to the late Jazz drummer Elvin Jones. I play it very carefully and do not take it
out of the drum room. The drum came with Mr. Jones' 16" floor tom fiber case (to the right in photo) - there's a SwissAir tag on the case. Keiko Jones (Elvin's surviving wife)
supplied a letter of Provenance with the gear

2) 1950's 3ply shells - referbed into a Cadillac Green-like (copied finish with automotive paint) 22/13/16/ 6.5x14 matching snare

3) 1940's 24/13/16/ 6.5x14 snare. Coped Gretsch Burnt Orange (Satin) finish = did not apply Gloss coat

4) Late 50's 3ply - the floor tom is 6ply - the kit came factory with 6ply floor tom. 20/12/14/ 5.5x14 matching snare in Gold Sparkle

So many nice kits on here! Here's my S Classix kit. First photo is with the 20" Kick, and the second is with the 22" Kick. Love the sound of Birch!

Always glad to show of my four piece!
My Orange County custom. (Its really a refinished Venice kit...)
Plus my shiny new Paiste Prototype.

Note the sad little 10 inch in the corner... Cant decide to use him or the 12.

Early 70's Premier restoration. These were originaly a single headed tom kit that I converted to double headed. They were in need of some serious love. Birch w/ beech re-rings. 24, 13, 16. Great sounding drums!
