This is my 2013 reissued vistalite kit. 24,16,12 with a 6.5x14 LM402T. Cymbals are 24 and 20 giant beats, and 15 2002 sound edge hats. This is my 3rd vistalite kit, 6th Ludwig kit. I love switching up, but I always comeback to vistalites. There is just something about them. They are the perfect sound for me.

I am eally considering a set of Crush acrylics. I want an acrylic kit, but like you, the Vistas are too far out of my price range. How do the Crush's sound? If I buy them it will be without getting a chance to play on them. I have played a couple of other acrylic kits and have liked the wide open sound. I just want to get as much info on the crush as
i can before I spend the cash.

They are way worth the $ i dont put any muffling in the bass or on any of drums, the bass drum has a great thud to it not too open but not too dead sounding either and the tom's are nice & resonant. the only thing I don't like about them is that they are HEAVY. the bass drum alone probably weighs as much as my whole Ludwig "EPIC" downbeats (20,12,14)..lol.

But considering the look & more importantly the sound of them i've never been disappointed with my decision. like with a lot of kits they sound better with new heads the UT Remos just don't. cut it but that is probably one of the ways to keep the price down. I like the new Red acrylics that Crush is offering but I like clear acrylics better...what ever color light hits them is what color they will be. now if only Crush would offer a 24" or even a 26" bass drum...lol

Good luck on your quest.

I saw the new red acrylic kit, from Crush, at the NAMM show last week. The pictures do not do the color justice, it is a rich, deep red - beautiful!
Here is my clear acrylic Crush kit:
