Istanbul Agop Picture-Fest

I went to Cymbalsonly web site and I really like the Cindy Blackman rides. Gotta save some money, or get lucky on eBay.

I was just thinking, Those guys that make the cymbals get paid to sit around and get hammered all day! Sorry about that! I had a weird day.

Jesus christ Stan. I'm so jealous.

I tried some SE Jazz rides and 25th Anniversary rides in London last year and I think I wee'd a little.

I'm not even joking.

I think the SE's really do it for me. That really satin sort of traditional finish and the incredible looking hammering is just amazing. But the sound...OHMYGOD it's heaven.

Lloyd.

I liked the sounds of the Cindy line. From the website they had the most agreeable
sound to me. Good choice.

Photo pictorial of another recent Istanbul Agop find from a recent factory shipment to Heartbeat Percussion here in Canada. A very lightweight Epoch ride at 2635g.

Very different than the much heavier earlier samples but equally a total Epoch gem in its own unique right. Great woody stick click stick with a lush wash. Lots of "air" floating around the stick at this weight combined with some sweet warm Agop Turkish trash. Love it!

You're killin' me, Stan!

I haven't bought a cymbal in ages. Once we get settled in the new house, I'll have to figure out what to sell so I can buy an Epoch. I haven't played a production model but I do own one of the prototypes.
