Re: Upgrade From Yamaha DP... 60's Ludwig?

Another idea, in hardware upgrades, is the Ludwig A.T.L.A.S. stuff. http://www.ludwig-drums.com/atlas/accessories_lac2973sp.php These work, using the same hole pattern that Ludwig has kept, for...

Re: Drumset Addition

Seems like adding a 16 FT would give you the option to play either 1 up/2 down or 2 up/2 down.

Re: Upgrade From Yamaha DP... 60's Ludwig?

I'm a sucker for the Luddie 3 plys, myself. I just scored a 24x14, and a 14x14 off eBay(haven't come yet). Those I'll pair with a 12x8, 13x9, 16x16 and 18x16. All in thermogloss. '69, '70, '71...

Re: No love for 20" bassdrums?

Plenty of love for 20's. Just depends on who you talk to. I own three, right now. A Gretsch Round Badge, and two Ludwig 3 ply Club Dates. But I also own 22's, 24's and 26's. My fav's are the 26's,...

Just quit. You don't owe the guy any explanation, other than he's not paying you enough.

Re: Anyone recognize this set?

I agree, that it's a MIJ kit. What it's worth .... well .... do you get the hardware and cymbals, or just the drums? And how much less can you get it for? Looks like an "almost" new Yamaha hi-hat...

Re: How to handle this situation

Maybe some "acceptable" middle ground can be found. You state the whole band "more or less" is unhappy. Maybe wants to walk. You've got the numbers on your side. This guys not a band, without...

Re: Ludwig Legacy Mahagony

My guess would be either African or Honduran mahogany, used. I think the lay up is an outer and inner layer 1/16th inch thick, and a poplar core layer 1/8th inch thick.

Re: Help Identifying Rogers Kit

By "online" .... you mean ???? There are dealers who specialize in Rogers stuff, and you (or your singer) can also look for parts on eBay. Jollity Drum Farm http://www.drumfarm.com/ is a good place...

Re: Rack Tom as floor Tom

Experiment. You'll figure out what you like. My standard (for a few years, now) is a 13x9 and 16x16 on my right. Same positions as your rack and floor. On my left ..... left of my hi-hat, I have an...

Re: Imperialstar 4 Piece

Not all Zildjian cymbals are created equal, so which Zildjians are part of the kit, would decide this a great deal .... or just a so-so deal. A ZBT starter pack would probably cost $149-$199,...

Re: Advice needed on correct gear.

It would be easy enough to set up an e-kit at home. It's tubes and clamps and pads. This guy marches with an e-kit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6wBD6DEKIY Not that you'd want to go that...

Ludwig Club Date. http://memphisdrumshop.com/ludwig-club-date-inchdownbeat-inch-drum-set-201214-ruby-sparkle-lr320dxrs 6 ply cherry/gumwood shells give a nice, warm tone. Usually, they come 20, 12,...

Re: Member leading other members on in a series of misleading questions in threads.

I think that's an awful harsh sentence for such a petty crime. Just ignore the guy. Or use the ignore button.

Re: Kick Drum physics experts in the house?

Might well be your head combo is wrong ..... for the sound you desire. You might want to experiment with felt strips across your batter and/or reso. heads. Maybe change the batter to a pinstripe. Or...

Re: 1980's Gretsch USA Custom

Re: Value of a Yamaha Maple Custom Snare?

Though Yamaha stopped making that particular model, the current comparable snare is about $550, new. 300 eur would be a good place to start, at least. Selling used gear ..... you ask a certain price...
