A double stroke roll has nothing to do with where it is played. It is a rudiment. You can play the strokes anywhere you want. It makes no difference where they are played

You can buy the plastic, mylar straps by themselves. You don't need to buy new snare wires.

40 BPM for however it takes to get it perfect. Then 60 BPM, etc. I have been to a lot of clinics with the pros and they all say start slow and gradually get faster. Do not rush

As bad as the bass drum may look framed, I think a kit with cymbals arms and three legs on everything looks just as bad. One stand with three legs, and then three cymbal arms, dog bones and clamps...

I have listened to a lot of gospel music and almost everything I hear labeled gospel chops would be way over playing the music. Confused. Most of it would be overkill for second line drumming.

Russ is right.....I bought a second 10 inch rack for my Renowns and tune it betweeen the 8 and the other 10. There is no definitive tuning for a 13. Experiment.
