Re: What drum set is this?

No. But on the Exports the inside of the steel hoops weren't painted at all. They were noticeably steel with an insert on the outside which was the same colour as the kit.

Re: What drum set is this?

What about the hoops? The hoops on that kit are wooden. Most of the Exports I've seen had steel hoops from memory. What was on the earlier models?

Re: Here's a great way to boost your weaker hand:

Great stuff Bill. Just been playing around with this on the pad for the last 15 mins or so. Amazing too see the shameful lack of control my left hand has with respect to the "crazy, backward" finger...

Re: Traditional grip for rock?

I've heard it bandied around drum forums for several years now too. I'm just waiting for evidence of Weckl actually doing it consistently though. Gadd has pretty much always switched between the two,...

Re: Unanswered Threads

I have no knowledge of the issue, no opinion on the matter, have no experience with the topic at hand and am unqualified to offer any meaningful advice.

Apart from that I think I'm in a perfect...

Re: DW and Gretsch

Possibly. Lord knows it wouldn't be the first time. Although funneling ALL the profits into one substantially larger corporation is another (far more lucrative) alternative.

Oakley and Ray Ban,...

Re: Ludwig Classic Maple or Vistalite?

Couldn't agree more.

It seems to me that at the very least, determining your desired shell sizes would be a far more practical step in the long run. It's more likely to help with your final...

Re: Carmine Appice Lobbies For Led Zeppelin Drum Spot

Me! And I'd pay handsomely to do so.

I've been a fan since Page's guitar first sent shivers down my spine as a youth, yet it's one 'wish list' item that's remained elusive. Damn straight I'd wanna...

Re: Meytal Cohen? She plays, right?

What? She makes a living doing the exact same thing that at least half of this very forum does? Playing covers?? Perish the thought!!

I agree. Hang, draw and quarter the silly tart for daring to...

Re: Should I be upset? Would you be upset? Watch video. (Warning, big mistake in my playing)

I've never been one to draw attention to mistakes from the stage. But on the other hand, I've never been one to make mountains out of molehills on public forums either.

Was it justified? Nah, it...

Re: DW and Gretsch

If he was an idiot, he could. Somehow John Good has never struck me as being one though. If Gretsch were a dud, then it would be feasible. But why kill something that still sells like hotcakes?

Re: Hi-hat foot technique

I'm inclined to agree, Scotty. The stands of old didn't have lever glides, or double chain cam drives, or even tension adjusters. There certainly weren't infinite ways of tailoring all the bells and...

Re: i just want one kit :/

Boba Fett (not to be confused with Bobdadrummer.....both are exceptionally cool but Bobda misses out because he only owns a tractor and doesn't wear a helmet.)

I wish I was Boba Fett! (although...

Re: Hi-hat foot technique

Looks like you're just talking about how far apart to set your top and bottom hats, yeah?

Like most settings on a drum kit, this one comes down to preference and comfort mate. I have mine about an...

A Star Wars kit, hey? I'm pretty sure I've got some Darth Vater drum sticks lyin' around somewhere if you want 'em.

Christ, I laughed!!

Re: Carmine Appice Lobbies For Led Zeppelin Drum Spot

And how!!

It seems, even in death, Ahmet was the only one who could do it. I dare say that unless you were at the O2 in 2007, you've missed your chance.

Re: Carmine Appice Lobbies For Led Zeppelin Drum Spot

Except he's lobbying the wrong people. How about lobbying the people that matter? Worth a shot. No one else seems to be able to sway the one guy who's consistently holding out. If he's good enough to...

Re: About getting paid

The only issue I see with this though brent, is that there's plenty of inexperience around in the artistic world and with that inexperience comes a lack of awareness that services don't come for...

Very easily. Just act like you're expecting to be paid......like the very thought that you wouldn't be paid never entered your thoughts. After all, why would it? You're a professional, you place...

Re: 10" 16" 22" Setup?

'Nuff said, I would have thought.

I have a 10" tom. I've given it a more than fair hearing at various times with my 16" floor and 22" kick and just never cared for it personally. Hence why it...

Re: Drumsticks for stick control

The hand controls the stick, not the other way round.

Now there'll be personal preferences......there always is. Nothing wrong with embracing them and using whatever you feel most comfortable...

As in playing the hats and dropping the same hand down to play the back beat?

Re: Joe Morello on Buddy Rich Pt 4

I can only take it we have vastly different interpretations of the term "musicality" Stagger. Granted he certainly reveled in the 'made for TV approach' to many of the situations he found himself in,...
