If you are getting frustrated with tuning, and are looking for a low, metal or rock type of sound, just buy pre-muffled heads like Remo Pinstripes or Evans EC2s (or whatever the Aquarian equivalent...

kasper92, it would be helpful if you could mention how tight you currently have the batter/resonant heads on your toms in relation to each other, to help pinpoint the problem.
