Re: I jammed with people I didn't know!

Re: London Drum Show - FINAL ARRANGEMENTS - Gavin & Todd!

I've asked if a touch earlier is possible. We'll see, but I know Todd's & Gavin's schedule will be very full. They're both really top blokes, so I'm sure if they can accommodate, they will.

I'm...

Re: I jammed with people I didn't know!

Probably because they can't get that HH lift in on the 6 ;) ;) ;)

Seriously, great news! Agreed, your regular "jam" night is more of a house band captive stage night with occasional guests. Not...

Re: new floating snare project

Nice smooth double stroke stuff there Dan :)

I'm not sure the tom tuning brought out the best in your drums.

Re: Tuning opinion...

That makes a ton of sense. Lower to mid tunings is all about shell excitement. Most drum shells are difficult to excite with low frequencies. They just don't have the resonance profile to respond...

Re: London Drum Show - FINAL ARRANGEMENTS - Gavin & Todd!

Cheers Madge, these are default times right now, & subject to change. It would be nice if we could arrange this at 12:30 so as to miss Eric Harland's MainStage, as I know some members will already...

Re: PSA - Lubricate your P85.

I think the good doctor might have been referring to another type of sausage as reported in the Sunday Sport :( :( :(

Re: London Drum Show - FINAL ARRANGEMENTS - Gavin & Todd!

Ok, things change quickly. I've just had a message from Gavin, & we need to bring things forward. Still subject to change at this stage due to Todd being yet to confirm a time.

London Drum Show - FINAL ARRANGEMENTS - Gavin & Todd!

Guys, I've started a new thread to ensure your attention. LDS is only just over 1 week away, so we need to nail stuff down re: the official Drummerworld forum photo shoot.

As you hopefully...

Re: Popcorn porn :)

Thank you :)

Not necessarily a longer note (that's note excluding head sustain) than segmented, but certainly longer than stave. As for fundamental pitch, steam bent single ply will typically be...

Re: Popcorn porn :)

The short answer is, yes they do, & it's not just down to grain orientation. The difference between stave (or hollow log) at one end of the solid spectrum, & steam bent single ply at the other is...

Re: PSA - Lubricate your P85.

Tesco's lasagne may offer improved performance for the P85. Let's face it, anything's worth a shot ;)

Re: Can mods read PM's?

I'm shooting for generally no, or if they can, they probably choose not to (or don't have the time). If mod's read all PM's as a matter of course, there's a few ex members who would have been ex...

Re: Anyone suggest good drum bags?

Ah, got you :) Yes, the regular bags are much more substantial than most. The AAA rigid cases are just that - completely rigid. Think of them in terms of an externally padded fleece lined hard...

Re: PSA - Lubricate your P85.

The biggest issue with the P85 is the quality of construction is so poor it almost defies belief. It's only redeeming features IMO are it's compact & light (& they're pretty important features -...

Re: Hearing the upbeat as the downbeat

I think that's the point. It's meant to throw a curved ball - I like that :)

Re: Anyone suggest good drum bags?

Are you sure it's the AAA? Just your choice of the term "bag" rather than "case" leads me to imaging something floppy rather than something rigid like a hard case.

Re: Anyone suggest good drum bags?

Hahaha, of course, I'm joking :) We do supply AAA cases with our drums, but TBH, the ordering process is a PITA. For kit sizes, we have to order 4 months in advance. That's a big bottleneck right...

Re: Anyone suggest good drum bags?

They are if you buy them with free Guru drums in them. Cases work out a bit pricey though ;) ;) ;)

Re: Anyone suggest good drum bags?

Protection Racket - never had an issue. Standard bags are bombproof, AAA rigid cases are epically good :)

Re: Floor Tom Wingnuts same as Cymbal Stand ones?

With respect, you expected a meaningful answer without stating make & model of drums how exactly?

Re: Hearing the upbeat as the downbeat

Larry, I'm not suggesting a showdown or bailing or anything like that. I'm just pointing out that any good musician will accommodate a reasonable request that potentially benefits the whole band, &...
