Re: Tilting the snare

I like flat, but I tend to hit the rim more often than I'd like so I tilt it just a little toward me. Same with the rack tom.

Re: I hate the people who book clubs

You're not alone, OP. The scene sucks, and it's not just where you are. Make me want to give up. And since my guitar player is moving to Florida TODAY, I just might.

Re: Earasers vs. Hearos High Fidelity?

I bought a set of these last week. I really like them. I got the medium size. They fit well. I wore them for 1 band practice, probably 2 hours or so. Sounded great.

Wore them last night for a...

Re: So it's my turn to have a band quandry..

I'm in an original band and my situation is very similar. What I like about what we do is that we are essentially self sustaining. I don't make any money from gigs, it goes back to the band, but it...

Re: Earasers vs. Hearos High Fidelity?

I use those too. While I like the sound I get with them they aren't very comfortable to me. I've been thinking about the Earasers for a while now. I should just buy them.

Re: Thoughts on YouTube Covers?

I pretty much subscribe to this theory. By and large I have zero interest in covers. Show me some original work.

Re: Are we too hard on people around here?

I've been on this forum for a while now but I don't post very often...for many of the reasons mentioned in this thread. I do find it to be some what harsh to new members. But I too avoid the "vs"...

Re: who here uses in-ear plugs?

They work well. Just lower the volume. Can hear everything great.

Re: who here uses in-ear plugs?

I have been using earplugs for practice and live for well over 10 or 12 years now. I won't go without. I'll use cheap foam, whatever. Anything. I hate playing without.

Live I'm using these...

Re: Can we start a list of well-known studio recordings that have sloppy drumming in them?

Weird b/c Mike has said several times A7X is the only band he's ever used a click live for.

Re: Can we start a list of well-known studio recordings that have sloppy drumming in them?

Fresh Fruit...there's an album I haven't listened to in a long time.

For me, I think of a fill on Pennywise's "Straight Ahead" album. I can't remember which song but there's a really sloppy...

Re: Tama Star = $$$$

A salesman at Dale's told me $6700 for that kit last weekend. They do sound incredible.

Re: Tama Star = $$$$

They are pricey...but boy do they sound good. I got to play one at Dale's last weekend. Just unreal sound.

They were doing kit (10/12/14/16/22) *not sure if snare was included* for $6700.

Re: Was this a false start by Bonzo?

What I love about live DVDs or CDs are seeing how differently the band plays any given song versus how they recorded it. I love live stuff. I like to hear that kind of stuff.

Re: Tama Silverstar tension rods question..

YES! My Tama drums won't fit my Evans key. I bought a Tama key to use on my Starclassic kit.

Re: Tama Starclassic birch tom tuning.

I've used that head combo on those drums and my 12 and 16 give me problems. The 10 and 14, however, sound outstanding.

Re: NAMM sneak peek...

Hmm...could be really cool to turn my 14x11 rack into a floor tom and get it off the stand.
