to some, thats a "big kit" its all subjective. i play a 5 piece (sometimes 6) with 6 cymbals and i think its pretty beefy.

i had a 3005 maple sonor kit in front of me and was in the same price range as the yamaha kit. I went with the yamaha and could never be happier! quality parts, great sounding bass drum. everything...

I was in your position, and well i went with the yamaha stage customs.
reasons:

i tried the sonor 3005 kit, and well it was maple, but i honestly didn't like the sound of the bass drum nearly as...

No dampening is easy. stick a EMAD with the dampener rings (i use the larger of the 2) then i use the stock yamaha Reso with a added 6" ring. Nothing is inside the drum and it sounds great, so did my...

my votes for the yamaha, i thought i would hate the "new lugs" BUT i love them, make changing heads much quicker and they look awesome. sound on them is amazing, i have the stock heads tuned very...
