Re: Yamaha Drums

That looks like a nice kit. Yamaha makes good drums, even from the 80's. Ha Ha. I've been wanting one of those Musashi 13" snares. Congrats on your new kit. They are really good drums.

Re: replacing absolute birch with performer b/b.. Bad idea?

I've got some BACN drums. While they are great drums, I'm real fond of the BB's also. I think they are good drums, no matter where they were made. If you like them, that's all that matters. It's not...

Re: Thoughts on super fast foot speed

Also, someone mentioned that they're struggling to move past 160bpm. In my experience and my observation, the range between 160-190bpm seems to be one of the hardest obstacles to overcome for...

Re: Thoughts on super fast foot speed

Not at the slow speeds I play. I can only play around 160. I've been working on this stuff for many yr. and still play slow. I've seen JoJo play continous release pretty darn fast. I think it's crazy...

Re: Thoughts on super fast foot speed

While I'm working on continuous release, and heel toe myself. I do think that I may benefit from con. rel. without triggers. I'm not sure yet. I'm almost positive that heel toe can't be used without...

Re: Gurus played hard!

They sound real good. If I was playing them they wouldn't sound so good. You mentioned not getting credit. I think that type of thing goes on a lot. That's too bad. They are worth listing big time....

Re: NDD Take 2 Yamaha Again.... YD9000 this time.

Oh wow! That's a nice kit. I've always liked the natural wood hoops on the kicks. I think I would like to have a set like that. I remember drooling over their catalogs back then. I've got 2 Yamaha...

Re: Ludwig Snare Find....worth anything?

That shell looks like a quality shell from yesteryear, and the lugs are Ludwig. The throw off and badge look suspicious. I bet it's still worth 50 though.

Re: What's your latest purchase?

That's s good looking Ludwig kit. I haven't seen blue sparkle in a while. The blue is a much brighter, or something than the old blue sparkle, from the 70's. Very pretty.

Re: New Acrolite!

Very cool. That's pretty darned vintage. I had a 70's model in the 80's. I wish I'd kept it. I've been kind of thinking about getting another.

Re: What's your latest purchase?

I picked up this used 16" A the other day. It reminds me of a 16 Med thin that I had for more than 20 yr. I think that's why I bought it. It doesn't sound fantastic or anything, but it's so familiar...

Re: 8 years of professional teaching - time to give it away

I've always played totally lefty. Started in late 1969. I would be dismayed at any teacher that would not accommodate a left handed player. That in itself is totally unprofessional. It only takes a...

Re: Yamaha Drums

Man that kit looks pretty sweet. I've never heard the clubs in person, but I bet I'd like them. I think that's the best finish I've seen on those kits. Really nice.
