Re: UK Drum Companies

FVF are another cool one.

I think Highwood are the best UK company right now tho when you look at their choice, price and quality. Noonan drums are unreal but very...

Re: Zambizzi kit's

There has been a ply and streambent How It's Made. I'm not sure about Stave, Unix would be the prime example of how to make amazing stave kits!

Re: 15" Floor tom and 23" Bass drum.

Yeah I play a 15" floor. It's cool just like a 16" but little more focused. Nothing that will change your life it's the same as any drums with a 1" diff in size but I like it!

Re: New badges and finishes from dw.

If I can picture this right in my head it would be good for kits that are set up both left and right handed? Always a badge facing the front? I'm not sure lol!

Either way the White wrap looks...

Re: Why aren't more people playing BIG bass drums?

I like the sound but seeing as I have enough problems getting a 22x18 to gigs for me 26" would be about as practical as glass drum sticks!

Re: Vaughncraft maple snare

You did a great job with the finish man! Looks really high end. Those lugs are really unique looking too. I like them. How are you enjoying the sound of a solid shell then?

Re: Loudest snare drum ever?

I know it's not the loudest ever but I gigged a couple of times with a guy who had a Yamaha Oak Custom snare. With a good rimshot it actually hurt!

Re: Yellow Drums!

Yeah strange that a lot of the best drummers play or have played yellow kits but you don't see many for sale. John Stanier from Battles (and many others) has pretty much sold me on getting my next...

Re: Unix quick release lugs

Looks good! Will they be your standard lugs now or an optional extra? Hope to see a pic of them fitted on a shell soon.

Re: Drum machines have no soul?

As far as drum machines go this is incredible. Real drum gear (right down to beater type) and adjustable 'mics' it's scary how real it all sounds!

Re: The grooviest groove?

For me it's got to be Chameleon by Herbie Hancock. My music teacher was a jazz trumpet player and with the bassist from my band we used to jam this song for half an hour sometimes during lessons!

Re: This drumset is very weird

I'm not sure about the long kick but that kit looks amazing. The white and gold in a nice bring room. Who is the drummer? Would like to see a vid of him playing.

Re: Tuning the kick/bass drum

Have a look at the vids from Bob Gatzen on here or Youtube. The best vids I have seen about tuning are from that guy he is a legend.

Re: Ultimate Drumset!!

I think I finally have my perfect kit sorted out in my head.

I'd love a HighWood Drums 4 piece 13" hanging 16" floor with legs and a 24" BD

A solid steam bent Highwood snare. Maybe 14x6 Birch...

Re: Joey Castillo

Yeah I really like Joey. He does play songs fast live but judging Josh's attitude to music and his band im sure if he wanted him to play slower he would make it very clear to him.

I was shocked...
