I just installed the Remo PS4 head and a Falam patch, tumed the thing up and BAM!
TOTALLY different bass drum! Punch, body and more projection! AMAZING!

No. The film used in the Chinese UX heads is of inferior quality. I believe the films used in manufacturing the USA REMO stuff starts out in liquid form VS the Chinese "Remo" being made from sheet...

I too am a proponent of cheaper can be better. As is said so many times on these boards and rings so true.. Head selection and tuning play a huge part in how a drum set will...

Thanks for the advice bobda! I wasn't able to change my order for the PS4 batter. It arrived this morning. I still haven't installed it as of this post. I admit the 16" kick is a bit of a switch...

Yeah, just a great little kit! The KickPort was kind of a ploy to wring some more low end out of this tiny drum.. So far. boobs on a bull. I am replacing the kick drum batter with a REMO PS4...

+1 Especially the Gretsch Club Jazz.. $650 for a 4 pc shell pack and Philippine mahogany shells. I know they are wildly popular.. I had one myself. For what other makers like Sonor are offering...
