Re: Mapex @ NAMM 2014

I'm interested to see what is planned.

I've got a 2007 era M Birch kit and i've recently got the "new kit fever". I'm considering upgrading to a Saturn IV or jumping ship completely soon. I'm...

Re: Anyone ever compete in the GC drum off?

This year will be the third time I have done it. I've had a good time every time, but i've always been disappointed. I was hoping to be able to interact with some other drummers and "talk drums", see...

Re: Looking for snare recommendations

Thanks for the comments everyone. Due to budgetary concerns (and my fear of not using my trusted DW brass), I am going to go with a Ludwig Supralite 6.5x14. It seems like a solid choice. The 402...

Re: Looking for snare recommendations

I did some research on a LM400 and the LM402. The LM402 sounds amazing. It is really what I am going for. I would also be interested in a LM404, just not sure where I can find it for around $100. I...

Accuracy

Does anyone have any recommended exercises or books for accuracy?

After my most recent head changes, I notice that my accuracy isn't as tight as I want it to be. Ideally, I would have a small...

Looking for snare recommendations

I have had a DW Collector's edition brass snare for about 12 years now as my main snare, and I am looking for something different.

I am not wanting to stick with a brass snare. I am looking to...

Re: I've lost that feeling?

I've had this feeling before. It will pass. I took a two year break at one point, but when the feeling hit, it hit. I wanted to get back into the swing of things. I ended up joining a few groups and...

Re: Where do you buy your DVD's?

I honestly buy DVDs and books at the cheapest place (usually amazon, ebay). I'm all for supporting local business, but the nearest Guitar Center or store with a decent drum selection is 90 miles away.

Re: How long does it take you to set up?

it takes me approximately forever to set up my kit. I have a 7 piece kit with 4 cymbals and hats, and it literally seems to take forever to setup like I want it :)

Re: being pushed to your limits

My old death metal band wanted ridiculous blast tempos from me as well. We would get up to 260. I noticed for prolonged times at that speed that my left arm would hurt, in between the elbow and the...

Re: Tim Waterson Here!

I didnt actually meant that you "slam" it, thats just the way I said it. I can tell that you let your foot fall naturally. Is that a pretty easy motion or does it take some time to master?

Re: Our first LP is done - and I'm disappointed

Everytime I've ever recorded (pretty much) I've felt this way. You really just need to step back and not try to overanalyze what went wrong. Focus on the good. I'm sure you did fantastic. If you want...

Re: Beginner Death Metal Drum Help Please

The most important thing is to not get overly stressed when you don't see instant progress. I've been playing death metal for about 5 years. I feel that my hands are very developed for speed, etc....
