Kit Plans

Well, this summer I'm getting a job. Hopefully by the end of the summer I will have enough money to afford most of what will be listed below. The set up is highly inspired by Ray Luzier, who is one...

Tom Tuning Help

Hi guys, I currently use my fathers kit, an old Ludwig (I don't know the series, maybe Rocker?) maple kit from the early-mid 80s. I have the 24x18 bass drum and the 14x5.5 Supra tuned to my liking,...

Re: Vinnie Paul Snare

I tried but the sound has been changed in the studio. I am hoping that someone can get me a raw recording.

Vinnie Paul Snare

Hey guys, I was wondering if maybe someone could get me a high-quality recording of a Vinnie Paul snare being played? All of the music stores in my area don't carry them, but I am highly interested...

Help Me Find a Snare

Hi, I have been looking around for ideas for a new snare, and the David Silveria snare from Tama stands out quite a bit for me:

I love the sound of it,...

Re: PDP Platinum series

It depends on what you like soundwise. I personally would go for the 6x14 and the 18x24 becuase I like the deep "crack" out of my snare and the "thud" out of my bass.

Re: Joey jordison snare vs Black Panther steel snare

Wrong Section, this goes under Drum Gear > Drums.

And this is just me, I would go for the Joey Jordison snare. I love the cracky whippy sound of it. It stands out in metal.

Re: where to get artwork printed on bd head?

You should see if your school has a screen printing lab. Mine does, so if I ever need anything like this done, I can design it and print it onto the head myself. Check your school directory and see...

Re: Ludwig Supraphonic: Heads and tuning?

I actually have one, from 78 or 79 I believe. I absolutely hate it. I just can't get the right "crack" sound out of it no matter what I try. I've gone through heads and heads trying to find the right...

Re: What Band influences you the Most?

For my main influences, they would be Sublime, Tool, and Dethklok (XD). Dethklok is a fictitious band, but I still love Gene's drumming as Pickles.

Re: Toms rattling snare strainer

I had the same problem. I found out that adding 2 small strips of electrical tape under the snares towards the middle fixed the problem. The snare sounds great, and no more rattling from the toms.
