Don't know how tall you are but the stool looks low for an average guy then you can flatten out the toms bit and have a better ergonomically playing position. One reason I have never like hanging...

I would buy the air vents first to determine the size of holes you are going to drill. and not vice-versa.One or two holes would sufficient. Maybe on the sides opposite the badges

I am going to guess in the 16-1700 USD range like the others. Maybe 2000. I like the tom mounts much better than my Renowns.

Sonor does 17 1/2, I have seen 20 diameter by 22 deep. It's all in the ear, the heads and tuning.

Everything I found on line about silver sealer seems to be a 2 way street. Some say brighter, some say more mellow, some say dryer, some say more reflective. so I have no definitive answer on the...

This has worked for a few. Detune the four lugs on the snare side that are beside the snare beds. Hope that made sense. That will give the snare side head a little contact with the snares.

Gretsch makes drums. Period. Not jazz drums, not rock n roll drums, not country drums. But drums. How you tune them, play them etc will determine if you are a metal drummer. Switch out the bass drum...

Dave it will come out in time. Not in your drum room or studio so much as in personality reacting with situations and people. You can develop flair etc and flash by yourself but not personality....
