Re: What's your latest purchase?

More Justin Chancellor. I just love the versatility of them and they're relatively local to me.

It'd have to be a fretted, active Wal. My fretless playing is beginner-level (I converted one of...

Re: What's your latest purchase?

I'm was glad when my drum GAS disappeared.

Only to be replaced by bass GAS.

Re: Help date these Ludwig Rockers, please

Try some wine, chocolates and flowers. Alternatively, go to a movie and go for a good meal out afterwards.

Sorry. Sorry. I just couldn't help it...

Re: Good quality mid-range snares?

I don't think they do. It's a 'standard' snare they made for years and years. If any school you went to had an old Premier metal snare, it was probably a Premier 2000.

You most likely want the...

Re: Good quality mid-range snares?

A Premier 2000 series is a good bet in the UK. A British Supraphonic-equivalent.

Re: lessons for lefties

There aren't many lefty-specific lesson options or the like.

You might want to look into 'open-handed' playing. There are certain advantages to playing this way over the traditional 'crossed'...

Re: New - official Guru In-Tense video starring David Floegel!

Yeah, I'll say it to him!

I'm not sure the inebriated ramblings of a 25 year-old beardy are the most persuasive words, mind.

Re: New - official Guru In-Tense video starring David Floegel!

The price discussion does amuse me a little. I've played Guru drums a few times and they are nothing but the best.

Compare the cost of a set of these drums against high-end Classical instruments...

Re: Did Bill Bruford stop practicing for a while?

I've got to say that I'm disappointed in myself that I didn't get at least one lesson with him when he was still teaching. He only lives about half an hour away from me.

According to a good...

Re: Did Bill Bruford stop practicing for a while

The album 'Starless and Bible Black' is effectively live with some cleanup work done in the studio subsequently. It blows my mind that 'Fracture' was a live take.

You're absolutely right. King...
