Re: New Score off eBay

Great looking drums.

Price is only one thing to consider:
you don't see many that are in that good of shape,
they aren't being made any more,
you're pretty well set for sizes,
the floor...

Re: The Bo Eder Pearl Vision Signature kit ;)

Ya - not worth putting money into cutting it down.

That could go towards those Club Dates instead.

Re: The Bo Eder Pearl Vision Signature kit ;)

Watch your mouth there son.

LOL

I like the bass drum color, but think it would look a lot better with chrome hardware instead of black.

Re: Ludwig Classic Maple or Vistalite?

Pearl's also got the Crystal Beats. Both are less expensive than the Vistalites, unless it's just gotta' be Ludwig.

That said - my vote goes to the Classic Maples too, for the reasons already...

Re: Your opinions on this kit?

Sounds like you were trying to decide if you should get a different drum set,
or get heads for the one you have, and decided on getting the heads.

I think you went the right way, and should be...

Re: Any word on the new Yamaha stuff, yet?

I think they've got their hands full with the China move.
Maybe Summer NAMM - if not, then next year.

Re: Yamaha Drums

I definitely don't need anything else, but it's always fun to see new stuff.

Even better if it resonates with you.

Re: Yamaha Drums

I don't think Yamaha is bringing out any drums at 2015 winter NAMM.

Here's the 2015 new products pdf: http://www.yamaha.com/US/namm/w15/YamahaNewProductsNAMM2015.pdf

Too many nice drums on...

Re: NAMM 2015 - what do you expect to see?

I guess the Hybrid Kit is going mainstream.
Yamaha's got a Stage Custom kit that comes prefigured with some e-drum components:

Re: Yamaha Rydeen Jazz Kit potential purchase

I don't think those are Stage Customs. They have badges that say 'Wells'. And Yamaha doesn't use those round pipe tom holders.
The mounts on the bass drum and tom are wrong. There's also a...

Re: Help identify this CL deal. (3-piece shell pack)

Hey - it's only $60. What have you got to lose?

The lugs on the small tom and the bass drum look the same - and different than the lugs on the larger tom.
They don't look bad, probably sound OK,...

Re: Yamaha Rydeen Jazz Kit potential purchase

Smaller drums aren't really a lot quieter like you'd think.
To reduce volume, you have to adjust your playing, or use brushes or rods or something.

That's not really too bad of a price. You'd...

Re: Stage Custom floor toms

You can do some digging thru the Yam. archive site: http://usa.yamaha.com/product_archive/drums/

Not sure about the badge, but if they're SC Standards, the pic on the site shows a floor tom with...

Re: Yamaha Rydeen Jazz Kit potential purchase

That looks like a 22" bass drum to me.
Can't really tell what the cymbals are, but almost for sure they're entry level ones that you'd want to replace.
How much is the asking price?

Re: New kit coming

Those sound good, but a little wild - bordering on out of control - LOL

Ya - I'd need one more drum too. That 13" floor tom kind of puts you between a rock and a hard place though.
Good sizes if...

Re: Always buy used except for .........

Most cymbals I buy are used.
I buy hardware new now. I find the cost difference isn't worth the effort.
About half the drums I've bought were new, and half were used.

Re: NAMM 2015 - what do you expect to see?

I'm pretty sure this satin finish isn't a wrap:

The other ones are wraps though,...
