Re: Chris Squire, Yes Bassist found dead

Shocked, My favorite bass player along with Greg Lake back in the early prog years. Loved that growling Rickenbacker. RIP Chris and thanks for all the great music and influences.

Re: How can I make a shallow snare sound deeper

I would start with a thicker head, Emperor or maybe the Evans reverse dot. Also tune it low to mid range and back off the snare wires a couple of turns.

Re: Tempo Training Program?

I found the following have helped me a bit....

Re: Help! Can't keep time without a metronome

Jarobi, I'm 61 and still sometimes struggle with time. I tend to push a bit. I am lucky ( or unlucky) enough to work with a Berklee Professor who plays bass. He does not budge on tempo and if I start...

Re: Band Pay Splits

Currently we divide the take evenly. On bigger paying gigs money will be taken out to cover clothes, schedules, web etc.

In the past I was offered a fixed fee. A wedding would be 150 where a club...

Re: DW performance or Tama SC birch bubinga

I picked up a set of DW Performance. Great sounding kit, I'm just not a fan of their hardware so I went back to Yamaha Live Oak. Can't comment on the Tama but I do hear they are geat drums.

Re: Comparing ones abilities with others

It's funny, in my younger days I was very competitive. If I saw a good (local) drummer I felt I needed to play better than him so I would practice my butt off working on things. I was always doing...
