Re: Dream Kit

A set of these would be nice: http://drumsonsale.com/ludwig-legacy-mahogany

I'm a bit flighty about drums though. I see a nice set and think it'd be cool to have it, or at least try it.
Changes...

Re: Buyers Remorse ?

I was shocked and disheartened when I saw the initial pricing on the Oaks and Hybrids, for a variety of reasons.
This new offering with the K's puts them more in line with where I thought they...

Deja' vu on the '57's: http://www.drummerworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=95637&highlight=gretsch+%2757+bop

BTW - does that '57 kit include the snare?

Re: DIY Gong Drum

How does having the over-sized hoop affect the sound, compared to just using a standard size hoop?

Re: Fraud Alert on eBay!

Maybe someone contacted him. I checked the link again and the description is readable now.
Still pretty tacky type coloring, but readable.

Re: Yamaha Drums

I've probably been here long enough that I should know that.

I don't really remember arguments about whether some offer was a good deal or not.

But I do know that I became aware of a lot of...

Browsed their site a little and found they have a similar deal for the Stage Customs, also with 20 and 22" bass drum: ...

Re: Yamaha Drums

Someone needs to start a 'good deals/hot sales' thread here. Should be a sticky.
I don't want to do it though - hint, hint (LOL)

Sometimes these deals only last for days. There's some recently...

Re: Yamaha Drums

Thought I would cross post this: http://www.drummerworld.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1347637&postcount=12
KamaK found it. Only good for 6 more days (till 4/30/2015), but it seems to be
a great deal...

Re: Fraud Alert on eBay!

I checked the feedback too. 1 negative and 3 neutral - the rest positive.

2 of the neutrals were for pictures. The seller said one was of a customer's drums, and the other picture was removed...

Re: Just bagged a Ludwig Epic Euro kit!

Hey rogue_drummer: I was just browsing some old Ludwig threads, and came across this one.

Then saw another one where you said the Epic kit actually came with a 24 x 14" bass drum,
and you...

Re: Advice on new kit

I'm in a very small minority here (might be the only one - ha ha), who likes a matching snare with a kit.
Even if you get a different one later on, it still makes it feel like a complete kit....

Re: My Kit Build Begins!

LOL - Lucas electrics and dribbling Amal carb ticklers.

Maybe modern stuff isn't so bad after all.

Mart61 - that's a nice looking bike. It'd be fun to take it for a spin.

Re: Drum Recording Questionnaire.

One thing to consider for recording is if the person wants to use a computer,
or a dedicated stand alone recorder.

Re: My Kit Build Begins!

I hope they're building Triumphs better nowadays.
I had 4 of them in the distant past - two 500's and two 650's.
They all were oil leakers with crappy electronics and finicky carbs.
Light and...

Re: Advice on new kit

YOTR knows he wants a 4 piece kit, with a 24" bass drum, and is interested in Ludwig Keystones or Classics.

I just think that getting a 'for now' kit, would be money taken away from a
'for the...

Re: Advice on new kit

Well YOTR, you're way ahead of the game.
You've got your sizes picked, and you're narrowed down to a few brands.
Either of the Ludwigs you're looking at would work fine.
I don't know anything...

Fantastic stuff. I got a good laugh out of it.

His bass drum's tuned a little high though.

Re: Poll: Buddy Rich

There's Buddy's personality,

and then there's Buddy's drumming prowess.

It's possible to be a fan of one and not the other.
Not a well thought out question for a poll.
