Re: How do I get this weird sound? Simon and Garfunkel's "The Boxer"

Do you have an extra snare? See if you can get a channel on the mixing desk for just that snare, and load it up with reverb. When the "lie-la-lie" starts, whack the piss out of that snare and there's...

"In an effort to fulfill his love of big natural reverb, producer Halee rang up session drummer Hal Blaine, who eventually found himself standing alongside a large empty elevator shaft inside...

Re: Atlas oversight...

No, this is what I'm talking about:

Ludwig doesn't offer one for a single-tom.

Atlas oversight...

Ludwig offers a double tom mount from its Atlas line. Why doesn't Ludwig make a single-tom version?

The ones I see look nothing like the Atlas design. They're just the basic generic mounts.

Re: Ringo's Drumming: Harder Than It Looks

Les - it's been corroborated time and again that it was, in fact, Richard Starkey who played the drums for the Beatles. He played with them in concert, and he recorded with them in the studio.

I...

Re: New to me Acrolite

I got my Black Galaxy back in spring, and since then it's become my favorite snare drum. It's an intriguing little drum, that speaks with so much character.

Re: WHAT WOULD YOU SAY?

I can't come up with one single reason for the sound guy to need to ask the drummer how many toms he uses.

Re: Al Jackson jr break in Turn You Loose. . . sounds simple . . .

I gave you the written-out drum part. How is that not engaging constructively? Sorry if I unintentionally tweaked your nose, pal. :)
