Re: Tell me if this is a stupid idea

I think it's a stupid idea and it doesn't exactly help one's technique and grip.

Re: So and so is a good drummer, but...

Re: Post your Zoom Q3 recordings :)

I checked it by downloading their manual on the website: no you can't use the intern mics
and line in simultaneously. Really a shame :(!

As for putting my playing up here: Maybe the day will come...

Re: Always sounding bad when practicing

There's this saying that a big problem can be solved easily if you divide it into many small
problems. You're probably trying to play things that are 2-3 levels above yours, so be sure
you start...

Re: Always sounding bad when practicing

On the other hand - when you stop practicing that samba that sounded so bad and you
haven't mastered the independence etc., you won't be able to play it well ever, and you
will never use it in a...

Re: Post your Zoom Q3 recordings :)

I've been using my Q3 extensively for several years, I record many of my rehearsals (to
check my playing, and also to easily "remember" how the material is arranged, especially
with...

Re: My sense of time and accuracy sucks. How to practice?

I know one weak point of my timing: When I play some rather busy patterns and then
transition to a simple two four money beat, I always slow down. It's very frustrating, and
even when I practice a...

Re: Drum capo?

If you mean say for a whole song during a gig, I think with a bit routine you can just
tweak a head up a half turn or so, and at the end you tweak all screws back and hope
the drum sounds like the...

Re: Tastefully Overplayed

I love Virgil Donati's playing on the On The Virg album Serious Insects, and I think it can
be considered as overplaying.

Although - if something is "musical", "appropriate" and "beautiful", can...

Re: How to become a fairly well-known Session Drummer

Zoro's The Big Gig is a great and inspiring book on the topic.

Re: Jamie2c's grip question. Please help him.

I can't be the sticks I'm pretty sure. We'd have to see to tell more I guess.

Re: Support BENNY GREB's new DVD...

Oh, and I agree with Benny (in his latest clip on the project) to a great degree: There isn't
much educational material around on this subject, and probably none at all as dedicated
as Benny is...

Re: Support BENNY GREB's new DVD...

I just searched for a thread like this before starting a new one.

Yeah, please support Benny's project!! I'm sure it'll be worth it, and I think Benny's a hard
working guy with lots of great...

Re: RANT: Disappointed in Sonor

For the record; I do think Sonor understood the word "reparation" in the way the OP meant it, because the
exact word actually exists in German and it does mean what the OP meant :).

Re: Negative Progress / Quitting

I actually don't really believe in getting worse. Couldn't it be that either your musical taste
and maturity, or your ears made step forward? So instead of playing worse, you'd be
hearing and...

Re: Bass vs. drums challenge video - released here first :)

hm, couldn't one as well say the three drummers already distract from the drum sound in an equal
manner because the setting is kind of "battle" like, where you're always thinking what the next...

Re: Bass vs. drums challenge video - released here first :)

Re: DW factory day

I was at "Sonor Days" a few weeks ago, and I'd say it's very worth going! The perspective
thing DrumEatDrum mentioned is also true for Sonor, as it is for all drum and cymbal
companies I guess.
