Re: Singing and playing?

I have sung in every band I have been in. Most of the time, the drums sort of go on "auto pilot." I have been doing it for a very long time, so I do not remember it being a problem. Peace and...

Re: Kind of an odd question?

That mostly depends on the stereo. From what you said, I doubt yours will do what you want. You could get an adapter to plug two headphones into the same jack. Good luck. Peace and goodwill.

Re: Learning to play well on a 4 piece kit ....

I have been playing a four-piece kit for most of the last thirty years. I mostly use hats, ride, and two crashes too. At church I also have a splash and China. It works for what I play. Peace and...

Re: How do you guys learn a song?

It depends on the tune and how familiar I am with it. Most of the time, I listen to it a few times. If I was playing prog or fusion or jazz, it would be different. I am playing blues-rock, a style...

Re: I suck at power ballads.

I read a long time ago in Modern Drummer, when playing a slow song (or any other type you have trouble with), pretend that you wrote it. It has worked for me. Peace and goodwill.

Re: Band PA ownership options - thoughts, experiences

In the past we pieced together a PA from what the different members already had. That way there is no question about who owns it. I have a small mixer/amp, two small speakers, and a good Crown...

Re: Hey Lefty Drummers

I am left handed and right footed, so I play open handed. I live in the boondocks, so there is no jam night situation for me to deal with. Peace and goodwill.

I am 57, and I do not listen to much stuff from my youth, which was the 60s and 70s. Peace and goodwill.

Re: Joe Sample Dies

I was a bit sad when I found this out yesterday. In honor of Mr. Sample, I watched my Crusaders live DVD. Peace and goodwill.

Re: Looking for a new drum kit, seeking advice

Any of them will be good. Choose by the tom mounts and other hardware. Some do not like the Pearl tom arms, but they are OK with me. I have owned all three brands, and all of them will get the job...

Re: Singers dragging the tempo

The singers at our church do the same thing, slow down the songs. The worship leader and I try to keep it going, but it is like stump pulling. It actually got better when we added a choir. Peace...

1. How many bands are you in? Two

2. What kind of music does each band play? Instrumentation? Church worship team: many singers, bass, guitars, drums; Blues/Rock band: bass, guitars/vocals (two...

Re: Sorry I ever got rid of those.

I traded in my Sabian El Sabor 21" ride for a ride I no longer have. I should have kept it. Peace and goodwill.

Re: What's On Your Shopping List?

I am happy with my drums and cymbals, and I have the next set of heads waiting for my toms and snare. I will need sticks pretty soon. I like the new Pro Mark .580 Select Balance sticks. Peace and...

Re: Buying options, need help!

I would spend $500 on the drums and $900 on the cymbals, or $700 and $700. Mid-range drums can be made to sound good with good heads and tuning. Cymbals sound how they sound. Peace and goodwill.

Re: Why is it you never see threads saying....

I have hardly ever bought more than one cymbal at a time. Other than snares, I have hardly ever bought one drum at a time. Peace and goodwill.

Re: Pearl Vision Birch - please help!

Could the problem be with that Pearl ISS mounting system? Does a tom sound very different held by hand than it does mounted on the tom holder? ISS mounts have been known to bend hoops too. Peace...
