Re: DW Pricing/Price List?

Veggo, If you think Canada is bad, try living down here in Oz.. Outrageous pricing and 3 to 6 month wait for anything.. I need some nuts for the tom holders, but they will only sell me the entire...

Re: Kick Drum size 24" or 22"

I like birch...

Re: Recording Customs Not Bop Drums?

[QUOTE=RobertM;538443]Well, I think I may go with Oak Customs, actually. I've been comparing sounds quite a bit between the RCs and the Oaks and Maples, and my gut reaction tends to be:

- the RCs...

Re: I posted this in a thread and it has been bugging me

Hmmmm.... Maybe I'm a bit of a snob. I, also, always have felt that you should "play" drums... "Play" being a fair and concise description of what most of us do.. Expend energy for the pleasure...

I had a beech kit some years back, and the kick was one of the best I have ever owned.. and I've had/have some nice ones. They were a nice yellow too.. Beauty kit.

Peace!

Re: Poll: My Kit Has...

Hmmm.. along with the hihat, I'll count my kick as one drum, though I use double pedals..

9 drums
9 cymbals
9 pads (Roland SPDs)
2 triggers

I guess I need more triggers... This is the...

Re: Heads for Yamaha Recording Customs

I use Evans EC2 Coated on my RC's. I love the sound. More lively than the PS's but still controlled enough.

The snares are a different story though.. and a different brand.

Good luck...

Re: Not happy with my Craviotto Solid 13 x 5.5 Snare

Hmmmm...

About a year ago I picked up a used 6 x 13 Edge. After a ton of experimenting, I have found that the Remo Renaissance RA head on top and a standard snare side works best for me. I...

Re: WIN A SET OF CYMBALS

Done Bernhard.

Hope it helps in some small way.. or hey, even a large one ;-)

I answered honestly, and Zildjians came out on top... although I have and still use Sabian on occasion.

Re: Trading in my Yamaha Recording Custom for a Pearl MMX?

Trading Recording Customs? akkkkkkkk.

If someone is going to trade anything straight up, you can rest assured that they aren't looking at taking a loss. RC's are some of the best drums ever.

Re: Are they the drums you really want?

I have to say that I am pretty satisfied with what I have now in my RC's, but if I had an unlimited budget, I would go for a DW kurillian birch kit in the same sizes that I have now.. with a light...

Re: John Rutsey RIP

I'm sure that most of us on here hate to see anyone have their live end so quickly, especially other muso's.

It's unfortunate about John... and I did enjoy the first album, it's what turned me on...

Re: Need an opinion from some veteran players

I think I can trace my philandering back to when I began playing... I was only doing basic rock stuff and some guy said I needed to learn to swing more... I figured why not.. It's a have my cake...

Re: Need an opinion from some veteran players

At risk of hijacking this thread, (sorry Clint), this is my opinion.
