A fear of student accomedation and practicing...

...I play my drums between 3 and 4 hours a day, and I try to spend at least an hour on my acoustics as well as 2 hours on the electrics (to keep the neighbours happy and to keep my hearing intact!)...

Re: Mahogany, Birch or Acrylic?

Can't spend anymore then 1000, and believe me, here in the UK, it is so hard to find companies that actually produce 26" bass drums. I have managed to find an acrylic kit and a mahogany for LESS...

Re: Sonor sq2 vs Kumu

I agree with the below post, after seeing wavelengths drum kit, I'd go with Kumu. the leading brands sometimes are no where near as good sounding or looking as some makes like Kumu!

Re: Top 5 UK drum brands??

How's about:

PDP/DW Drums

They are my commercial top 5. My number 1 favorite UK company, is a custom company called Highwood. But to be honest if you are going...

Re: kick

Justin Foley - Drummer of Killswitch Engage.
He first joined the band with a 22" bass drum. And it shrunk. He still uses a double bass pedal on it and it sounds incredibly punchey!

Should we compare ourselves to other drummers.

It is fair to say we all have our influences and we follow our influences, and begin to adapt our style. After going on youtube then searching anything drum related and you then find someone who has...

Re: Drum trigging sounds

Sometimes drummers download sounds from sample libraries. You can get online samples, or just produce them yourself (using midi and various software.)

Most of the time, they will just get a drum...

Re: Stage presence

I tend to freak out as soon as I get on stage, (often intending to give the audience something to remember or just to be a complete drama queen.)

I usually head bang, crash my head on cymbals at...

Re: accoustic < digital

Acoustic kits have an amazing character to them that can't ever be replaced. Sadly, they have no volume control, just technique, also to get a good sound you need to play quite abit as I am sure you...

Re: tony royster on bozzio's kit

Nice little solo on the bells but to be honest. I think that the kit isn't really his kind of style. he doesn't need all that!

Re: The kits you didn't like....

I did have a CB drum kit when I first started drums about 10 years ago. I flogged it for an electric kit 3 years ago and I HATED it.
I also strongly dislike frankinstein kits, mainly when the toms...

Justin Foley - Killswitch Engage
I'm not a big fan of black metal drummers, but after hearing some of the technical grooves that he plays, I have changed my mind!

Don't believe me?

Re: Best Recording Programme For PC

Sony Sound Forge looks great, I'm looking at the details it says '5.1 sound for DVD's', but can you still use 5.1 sound for CD playback?

Re: Best Recording Programme For PC
